Why the Smell of Lilac Instantly Takes Us Back to Our Memories

There are scents that simply smell good. And then there are those that take us somewhere else entirely. Lilac definitely belongs to that second category!

Sometimes all it takes is walking past a blooming bush on a stroll to be instantly transported to a memory. A sunny backyard, a visit to our grandparents, a bike ride on the first warm days of the year — or simply that very particular feeling that summer is finally on its way.

Interestingly, lilac is also recognized as one of the most difficult floral fragrances to reproduce. Its natural scent is rich, delicate, and full of nuance — which is why many lilac interpretations can feel quite different from the freshly cut flower.

That's precisely what inspired us when creating our Lilac & Sandalwood fragrance. Our goal was simple: recreate that unique sensation of burying your nose in a freshly picked bouquet of lilac and bringing it home. The kind that fills an entire room and makes you smile every time you walk by.

To complete the fragrance, we added a touch of sandalwood — a soft, enveloping note that accompanies the lilac while letting it take center stage.

The result is a floral, comforting, and deeply nostalgic fragrance that reminds us why we look forward to spring so eagerly every year.

And since lilac season never lasts long enough, we chose to offer it as a candle, reed diffuser, room spray, and incense. A way to extend the magic of spring a little longer — and rediscover that beloved scent, even long after the lilacs have stopped blooming.
